Kazakh-Austrian Business Council convenes in Vienna
At the event Austria was represented by at least 30 companies from the sphere of engineering, petroleum chemistry and construction, energy, agriculture, finance and investments, tourism and so on. Kazakhstani participants numbered reps of national industrial, oil&gas, energy, engineering, agricultural and investment companies.
The session touched upon prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation. The sides exchanged information on the investment climate in Kazakhstan and Austria, made presentations of promising services and products, and held bilateral meetings in the 'B2B' format on the sidelines of the session.
Austria is one of the top trade partners of Kazakhstan, actually №4 among the EU countries (currently the volume of mutual trade makes nearly $5.3 billion). Kazakhstan is the third largest trade partner of Austria among the CIS member states after Russia and Ukraine. Sales turnover between Kazakhstan and Austria has amounted to $2.032 billion over six months of 2013.
The Kazakhstani-Austrian intergovernmental commission for commercial and economic cooperation, working groups for the development of infrastructure projects in the sphere of transport, hydropower engineering and health care and the Kazakhstani-Austrian Business Council play an important role in the deepening of business partnership.
