Kazakh athletes may finish in top ten countries in London - Nazarbayev

KOKSHETAU. August 10. KAZINFORM Today, in a conversation with the public in Akmola region Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev touched upon the results of Kazakhstani athletes' performance at the London Olympics.
In particular, Nursultan Nazarbayev expressed hope that Kazakhstan might enter the top ten countries on the number of medals won.
"The whole nation rejoiced at the victory of our athletes. The only thing I wanted to hear was the Anthem of Kazakhstan. Now it is heard all over the world - the first time Kazakhstan has six gold medals. Probably, our athletes will be in the top ten," the Kazakh President said.
"Sport is of great importance for the country's image," he added.
