Kazakh athlete grabs silver at 2014 Sambo World Championship in Cyprus

AKTAU. KAZINFORM - The 2014 Sambo World Championship brought together 600 athletes from 31 countries in Cyprus on December 5-7.
Kazakhstan was represented by 15 athletes, including Sungat Zhubatkan, 16, from Mangystau. Zhubatkan clinched silver in 60kg category. The 16-year-old beat sambo practitioners from France, Japan, Georgia and Ukraine, but was edged out by Bulgarian athlete in the final bout. Team Kazakhstan also grabbed three bronze medals.
