Kazakh army alpinist receives new shoulder straps

ASTANA. June 10. KAZINFORM /Kurmat Samarkhan/ Today Minister of Defense Danial Akhmetov has presented shoulder straps of the first military rank of lieutenant to the alpinist of the Kazakh Army, warrant officer of the Dynamo Central Sports Club of the Army Denis Urubko.
Member of the CSCA D. Urubko has become the first alpinist among the CIS countries who has reached all 14 tops of the mountains of the world with the height of more than 8 000 meters. He accomplished this program this spring.
Head of the Defense Ministry D. Akhmetov highly estimated achievements of the Kazakh alpinist and wished him further success in sports. In additional, the Minister informed that mount to Chomolungma will be completely financed by the Kazakh Ministry of Defense.
Denis Urubko, born 1973, in Nevinnomysk town of Stavropol Kray. He was engaged in tourism at an urban tourist club and that time he reached several minor mountain tops. In the beginning of 1993, having moved to Kazakhstan he has joined the climbing sports in Almaty city.
