Kazakh Ambassador visits Freiburg, Germany

At the meeting with Lord Mayor Dieter Salomon the issues of bilateral cooperation and opportunities of certain projects implementation in such priority spheres like education, ecology, healthcare, were discussed. Taking into account Freiburg's experience in development of science absorbing industry, technologies and innovations, there was expressed interest in cooperation development in these spheres with Fraunhofer institute and Steinbeis Foundation.

The Ambassador told about successful cooperation of the Kazakh-German University with the German universities and about plans on new specialties opening.

Besides, the sides discussed an opportunity of organization of the Day of Kazakhstan and the IV Kazakh Students Forum in Germany jointly with the Freiburg Mayor's Office in 2010.

D. Salomon in turn expressed support to Kazakhstan's initiatives including establishment of partnership relations between Freiburg and one of the Kazakh cities.

Within the visit Ambassador Onzhanov met with Editor-in-Chief of Badische Zeitung newspaper Thomas Hauser to familiarize the German editorial staff with Kazakhstan's development course, cooperation between the two countries and the activities held within the Year of Kazakhstan in Germany. Badische Zeitung daily newspaper has been published since 1946.

The head of the mission also visited Solar Info Center specializing in development and implementation of energy-saving technologies, renewable and alternative sources of energy. Head of the Company Rolf Buschman informed the guest of the projects to be realized in Kazakhstan and expressed interest in launching a national centre of renewable energy in our country.

The same day N. Onzhanov made a report on "Kazakhstan's way to the future" at the Freiburg University.
