Kazakh Ambassador visited Santa-Catarina, Brazil

During his working visit and meetings held with Mr Raimundo Colombo, Governor of Santa Catarina, and Mr. Glauco José Côrte, President of the Federation of Industry of State «FIESC», the parties discussed bilateral economic cooperation and establishment of relations between businessmen of Santa-Catarina and industrial regions of Kazakhstan, as well as issues related to the possibilities of mutual participation of both entrepreneurs in investment projects, the press service of the Kazakh Foreign Affairs Ministry said.

Parties also discussed issues of high potential and prospects for further development of bilateral Kazakh - Brazilian cooperation. The Brazilian side expressed interest in cooperation with Kazakhstan business partners in agriculture, including import of Kazakh high-quality wheat, exports of meat, poultry and ceramics to Kazakhstan, and also exchange of experience in the field of modern technological processing at agricultural, mining and metallurgical complexes.

The Governor and the Head of Regional Chamber of Industry expressed their interest in the development of business cooperation between businessmen of the State of Santa Catarina and major industrial centers of Kazakhstan such as the Almaty, Karaganda and South Kazakhstan regions. Therefore, Brazilian officials expressed their readiness to organize a business forum in Florionopolis with participation of representatives of industrial centers of Kazakhstan. Santa Catarina is one of the fastest growing states in Brazil. According to the «FIESC» information, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and the State of Santa Catarina in 2013 amounted to USD 6,2 mln.
