Kazakh Ambassador, Vice President of European Parliament meet in Brussels

BRUSSELS. June 23. KAZINFORM /Yerzhan Ospanov/ Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kazakhstan in the Kingdom of Belgium, Head of Mission of Kazakhstan under the European Union Yerik Utembayev has met with First Vice President of the European Parliament Alejo Vidal-Quadras Roca in the House of the European Parliament in Brussels; Kazinform refers to the Embassy's press-service.

During the meeting the parties highly appraised the level of present cooperation between legislative bodies of Kazakhstan and the European Commission discussed its further development.

Y. Utembayev congratulated A. Vidal-Quadras on his reelection at the post of the EP Deputy and expressed his confidence in further cooperation between Kazakhstan and European Parliaments. A. Vidal-Quadras welcomed proposals of the Head of the Kazakh Diplomatic mission and expressed readiness to strengthening of the cooperation between two Parliaments.

At the end of the meeting the parties expressed satisfaction in trade and economic investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and the EC as evidenced by increase of the trade turnover volume up to USD 39.1 bln in 2008 that is ninefold exceeds indexes of 2002.
