Kazakh Ambassador presents credentials to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

ASTANA. September 15. KAZINFORM Kazakh Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Nurbakh Rustemov has presented credentials to President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Teheran; the Kazakh MFA's press service reports.

 The Kazakh diplomat congratulated the Iranian President on re-election to the high post and successful beginning of the work of his new cabinet, conveyed congratulations and best wishes of President Nursultan Nazarbayev. He noted that, owing to efforts of our Head of the State and Iran's leadership, special friendly ties were tuned up between the two states.

 N.Rustemov emphasized that his diplomatic mission will be directed to further strengthening economic and scientific-cultural ties. The Ambassador expressed hope that joint projects implementation in the oil, agriculture and transport-transit spheres will positively influence on the current trade imbalance. At present the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Iran makes up over USD 2 bln. The Kazakh Ambassador determined importance of an opening of a regular airline service between Almaty and Teheran as one of the priority tasks.

 Remembering his visit to Astana with great warmth, M.Ahmadinejad conveyed his best wishes to President Nursultan Nazarbayev and the nation. He called to accelerate construction of Uzen-Kyzylkiya railway line. On his opinion, big economic potential, which the two large economies of the region have, is not used in full. He emphasized that active cooperation in the chemical, agriculture and engineering sphere will give a new impulse to bilateral cooperation.
