Kazakh Ambassador, Metropolitan of Vilnius met

The Kazakh Diplomat briefed the Head of the Lithuanian Church on economic and political situation in Kazakhstan and the main provisions of the President's Address to the Nation. Special emphasis was laid on the issue of tolerance that is one of the priorities of the Kazakhstan's OSCE chairmanship.

The Ambassador also told the Metropolitan about the regular holding of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions initiated by the Kazakh President.

The sides stressed the necessity of continuation of interconfessional dialogue between the Muslim world and Christianity and expressed interest in activation of cooperation in the development of interreligious interaction.

The Cardinal expressed readiness to support the Kazakhstani initiatives in the issues of tolerance and wished success to the Kazakhstan's OSCE chairmanship and its contribution to rapprochement of people, cultures and religions.
