Kazakh Ambassador met with Scottish authorities

The diplomat met with Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament Alex Fergusson, First Minister of Scotland Alex Salmond and Lord Provost of the City of Edinburgh George Grubb. They discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral relations, particularly in the sphere of diversification of work of Scottish oil and gas companies, investment opportunities of Kazakhstan for business in Scotland as well as use of advanced technologies by small and medium businesses in non-primary sectors of economy, including agriculture. Special attention was paid to the issues of cooperation in the field of education, healthcare, culture and tourism. The Kazakh Ambassador informed of the main provisions of ?Path to Europe? government program. The Scottish side took an interest in the process of social and economic reforms in Kazakhstan, main directions of internal and foreign policy, experience in the sphere of interethnic consent and inter-confessional tolerance of the Kazakh society.
