Kazakh Ambassador met with Latvian parliamentary group

ASTANA. April 9. KAZINFORM. Kazakh Ambassador Galymzhan Koishybayev has met with members of the Latvian Parliament?s group for cooperation with Kazakhstan in Vilnius; Kazinform refers to the Kazakh MFA?s press service.

The diplomat informed of the economic and political situation in Kazakhstan, the country?s foreign policy initiatives as well as the main provisions of the Kazakh President?s Address ?Through Crisis to Renovation and Prosperity?. G. Koishybayev noted dynamic development of the political, trade-economic and cultural cooperation between Kazakhstan and Latvia and strengthening of friendship between our people. He stressed active interaction between the parliaments of the two states. According to him, the countries will further a constructive political dialog within the framework of joint work in the OSCE Troika. Chairman of the Latvian parliamentary group Edmundas Pupinis noted friendly character of the Kazakh-Latvian relations and mutual interest in their furthering. Having emphasized significant growth of the bilateral commodity circulation he called for more active use of trade, energy and transit-transport potential of the two states. The Latvian parliamentarians were interested in the Kazakh Government?s measures on stabilization of economy and financial sector. According to him, ?Path to Europe? government program and successful cooperation between Kazakhstan and Latvia promote further cooperation in various spheres.
