Kazakh Ambassador meets with GCC Secretary General

RYADH. February 18. KAZINFORM The Cooperation Council of Arab Gulf States is interested in deepening bilateral relations with the countries of Central Asia and, above all, with Kazakhstan, which has significant political and economic potential. During the meeting the Kazakh diplomat invited the Head of the GCC to take part in the CICA (Conference on Interaction and Confidence-building Measures in Asia) conference scheduled in summer. A. al-Atiya gratefully accepted the invitation expressing willingness to participate in the upcoming conference. The Kazakh Ambassador noted that Kazakhstan, diplomatic representatives of which head such large regional structures as EurAsEC, CICA and SCO assumed a coordinating role to hold the forum aimed at expansion of mutual cooperation between different regional organizations in Asia, finding solutions for topical issues in the field of policy, economy, security and other important spheres on the Asian continent. During the meeting particular attention was paid to the issues of the development of Kazakh agricultural goods? stable supply to the region of Gulf. The GCC is the sub-regional organization including six states of Persian Gulf: Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, UAE, Oman and Saudi Arabia. The main Council?s activities are cooperation and integration between the member-states in different spheres of activity.
