Kazakh Al-Farabi National University to cooperate with University of Havana

ALMATY. June 2. KAZINFORM The issues on cooperation in the sphere of education and science, realization of joint scientific-research and humanitarian-educational projects were discussed in Almaty during the meeting of rector of the Kazakh Al-Farabi National University Galym Mutanov and Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Cuba to Kazakhstan Abelardo Hernandez Ferrer and Consul of the Embassy of Cuba to Kazakhstan Garcia of Neris Merinos, the press service of the university informs.

The Ambassador noted that the Al-Farabi University was the 'locomotive' of science in Kazakhstan and it was very important for Cuba to establish strong partnership with the university. He reminded that many students from Cuba were gaining education in the universities of Kazakhstan. He also expressed hope that the cooperation in this sphere would be developing. 'We would like students from Cuba to come to Kazakhstan to learn in your universities,' he said adding that students and teachers from Kazakhstan could go to Cuba to get education and trainings in the most prestigious university of Cuba - University of Havana.

G. Mutanov supported the proposals of the Ambassador and reminded that the Head of State set the task to transform the university into the research university. 'To obtain this goal we will be using the best educational models and cooperation with one of the best and well-known universities - the University of Havana is very important for us and future successful interaction' he added.
