Kassym-Jomart Tokayev meets President of Microsoft Central Europe and Central Asia Michelle Simmons
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks with President of Microsoft Central Europe and Central Asia Michelle Simmons. At the meeting in Akorda, President Tokayev and Michelle Simmons discussed the prospects for cooperation between Kazakhstan and Microsoft in IT industry development and creation of a full-fledged ecosystem for startups, Kazinform News Agency has learned from the Akorda press service.

The Kazakh President was informed that the office of Microsoft in Kazakhstan was transformed into a multiregional hub encompassing the Central Asian region, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Mongolia and Pakistan.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said that Kazakhstan is actively working on the legislation in the field of artificial intelligence to use its potential to develop innovations and ensure economic growth. Next year, Kazakhstan plans to open the National AI Center which will become a basic infrastructure for the country’s digital transformation.
According to Michelle Simmons, Microsoft intends to further cooperate with Kazakhstan in digital development issues.
