Kassym-Jomart Tokayev honors UNV executive coordinator with Order of Dostyq
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has awarded Toily Kurbanov, Executive Coordinator of the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme, with the Order of Dostyq, 2nd Class, Qazinform News Agency reports, citing the Akorda press service.
The state award was presented in recognition of his significant contribution to the development of volunteerism in Kazakhstan.
The award ceremony took place during a meeting between Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Toily Kurbanov. During the meeting, the sides discussed the development of volunteerism and Kazakhstan's cooperation with the UN Volunteers programme.
Kurbanov, in turn, thanked the Head of State for his attention to volunteerism and praised the high level of cooperation.
The Executive Coordinator of the United Nations Volunteers programme also highlighted the international significance of Kazakhstan's volunteer initiatives and noted other countries' interest in the country's experience.
