Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Saida Mirziyoyeva discuss deeper Kazakh-Uzbek cooperation
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Sunday had a meeting with Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, Qazinform News Agency reports, citing the Akorda press service.
The Kazakh leader stressed that Mirziyoyeva’s visit is important for advancing the strategic partnership between Astana and Tashkent.
“We consider your visit to be highly beneficial for the development of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. In our political systems, presidential administrations play an important role, and I fully support the development of active working contacts between them. The closer we interact, the better it will be for ensuring stability in Central Asia and strengthening regional cooperation, as both Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are major states by many indicators. Our countries are currently at a crucial stage of development. We need peace and security. Only under these conditions will we be able to successfully carry out reforms, said the president.
Tokayev noted that 2026 has been declared the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence in Kazakhstan.

“I fondly recall my working visit to Bukhara. We had the opportunity to see Uzbekistan’s achievements in a number of sectors, including the development of artificial intelligence and digitalization. The world is rapidly moving toward the development of artificial intelligence, and we must be prepared to keep pace with the times,” he said.
The Kazakh president also conveyed his warm wishes to Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
For her part, Mirziyoyeva thanked Tokayev for the opportunity to meet.

“It is a great honor to convey the sincere greetings of the President of Uzbekistan. Shavkat Mirziyoyev consistently attaches special importance to deepening multifaceted cooperation with Kazakhstan. He closely monitors the implementation of all high-level agreements and joint projects. Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are working together for the stability and sustainable development of Central Asia, and this cooperation is bearing fruit. Together, we are making the voice of our region united and heard on the global stage. In Uzbekistan, we sincerely welcome all the transformations taking place in brotherly Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan is our reliable ally, and we never tire of saying so,” said the head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the sides discussed ways to further expand bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. They also exchanged views on the systemic political and socio-economic reforms being implemented in both countries.
Earlier, Qazinform reported Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev would pay an official visit to Brussels on June 22-23 at the invitation of European Council President António Costa.
