Kaspersky's kidnapped son released, five suspects detained

MOSCOW. April 25. KAZINFORM The police and security services released Kaspersky's kidnapped son and detained five suspected kidnappers in the Moscow Region on Sunday, the Moscow police spokesman Viktor Biryukov told reporters on Sunday; Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.

"The Moscow detectives together with the agents from the Federal Security Service under the support of police commandoes from a district in the Moscow Region released Kaspersky's kidnapped son. He is in satisfactory condition," Biryukov said. He added that according to preliminary reports five suspected kidnappers and a suspected mastermind of kidnapping with previous convictions were detained. Biryukov noted that the surnames of the detainees are not disclosed during the investigation.

A police source told Itar-Tass that "the ransom was not paid for Kaspersky's son." "The guns were not used in his release operation and no people were injured in the operation," he noted.

Ivan Kaspersky, 20, was detained on the way to his office in Moscow on April 21.
