Kapparov: Government compensates 50% of cost of renewable energy equipment for people in remote areas
"Ordinary consumers, who want to install renewable energy equipment with the capacity up to 5 kW in their households in remote areas, will get 50% subsidies from the national budget," Kapparov said.
He also said that in late May, the Government of Kazakhstan approved the tariffs for electricity generated by renewable energy sources. So, electricity from wind farms will cost 22.68 tenge per 1 kW/h. The rate for solar power is 34.61 tenge per 1 kW/h, for small hydro power plants - 16.71 tenge per 1 kW/h, for biogas equipment - 32.23 tenge per 1 kW/h.
The rate for electricity from solar plants using photovoltaic modules on the basis of Kazakhstan's silicon is 70 tenge per 1 kW/h with power generation up to 37 MW. According to Kapparov, such measure has been taken to support domestic manufacturers.
