K. Tokayev meets with religious delegates

ASTANA. June 30. KAZINFORM - Today Chairmanship of Kazakhstan's Senate, Chief of the Secretariat of the Congress of the Leaders of the World and Traditional Religions Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev has held a number of meetings with religious delegations which has arrived in Kazakhstan for participation in the III spiritual congress, Kazinform has learnt from the Senate press service.

In the talks with Secretary General of the World Islamic League Sheikh Abdullah Ben Abdel Muhsin at-Turki it was pointed out that the exceptional meaning of the constructive dialogue of the religions is one of the main tools of building stability and preserving peace in the world.

The League Secretary General pointed out the big contribution of Kazakhstan to this process. In this regard he highly appraised the fact of holding the world congress of religions and emphasized the uniqueness of the event taking place in the Eurasian continent.

He also expressed gratitude to Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev for promoting the initiatives of Saudi King to hold a dialogue of cultures and religions.

At the meeting with the World Lutheran Federation Secretary General Ishmael Noko they exchanged opinions with regards to the role of the dialogue of religions, cultures and civilization in ensuring mutual understanding, peace and stability on the planet.
