K. Saudabayev met with UN Secretary General

-YORK. September 26. KAZINFORM /Aliya Altyngazina/ Kazakh Minister of Foreign Affairs Kanat Saudabayev met with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon in the course of 64th session of UN General Assembly.

The sides pointed out a long way of cooperation between Kazakhstan and UN. Ban Ki-Moon expressed gratitude for support of the idea on creation of the UN Regional Center of Preventive Diplomacy in Central Asia. The contribution of Kazakhstan to stabilization of the region and especially Afghanistan received a high appraisal. The Secretary General congratulated Kazakhstan on successful carrying out of the Third Session of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions held under the aegis of the UN.

The parties discussed the initiative of Nursultan Nazarbayev on announcing August, 29 the World Day of Nuclear Weapons Renunciation. The Secretary General voiced support to the proposal.

The Head of the UN wished Kazakhstan successful chairmanship in OSCE and noted that looks forward to his visit to Kazakhstan this November.
