K.Saudabayev, H.Karzai discussed bilateral cooperation

ASTANA. July 20. KAZINFORM Today OSCE Chairman-in-office, Kazakh Secretary of State - Foreign Minister Kanat Saudabayev has held talks with Afghan President Hamid Karzai within the International Conference on Afghanistan, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry reports.

The sides discussed issues of cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats.

H.Karzai appreciated the results of recently held informal meeting of the OSCE Foreign Ministers in Almaty including the agreement on holding the OSCE Summit in Astana this year. The Afghan President said that Afghanistan had supported and would continue supporting the efforts of Kazakhstan as the OSCE chairing country, in particular, the initiative of President N.Nazarbayev on calling the Summit of the Organization where increase of the OSCE assistance to Afghanistan could be one of the key topics. He also said that he accepted the invitation of the Kazakh President to take part in the Summit.

The President of Afghanistan expressed gratitude to the Kazakh President for initiation of the program of educational cooperation. 1000 Afghan people will train in our country within this program.

The interlocutors discussed development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation as well. H.Karzai said that Afghanistan was interested in close cooperation and would continue supporting Kazakhstan's efforts at the international level.
