K 2 category gasoline production to be banned in Kazakhstan in 2016

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - A ban issuing into operation and usage of gasoline and diesel fuel of K2 environmental class in Kazakhstan will come into force from January 1, 2016, the press service of the Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology under the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies informs.
Technical unpreparedness of Kazakhstani refineries is the main constraint on the transition to petroleum products production in accordance with the requirements of environmental class K3. Kazakhstan refineries' modernization to be completed in 2015. The concept of "ecological class" (K2, K3, K4, K5) fuel has being introduced by the technical regulations of the Customs Union. Classification of gasoline and diesel fuel is carried out on the basis of physico-chemical parameters which determine the level of negative impact made by exhaust gases.
