Journalists of printed mass media keep up high standards of their trade – President

Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev extended his congratulations to journalists on the occasion of the National Day of Press, Kazinform News Agency cites the Akorda press service.

In his congratulatory message to the journalists of printed mass media, President Tokayev reminded that on this day in 1913 the first issue of Qazaq newspaper, which stood at the origins of national printed mass media industry, was published. The newspaper released by the prominent sons of Kazakhstan, founders of the Alash movement, made an enormous difference in consolidating the nation during a watershed moment in Kazakhstan's history.

While being committed to the ideals of freedom of speech, according to the President, the printed mass media of the country up to this day remain the go-to source of reliable, unbiased information and high-quality analytics. Newspapers and magazines raise pressing problems of the state and society, present a wide range of opinions and facilitate the promotion of fundamental universal human values.

President Tokayev believes that journalists of the printed media keep up the high standards of their trade, setting an example of pragmatic patriotism and civil liability.

He expressed confidence that national printed mass media will continue to foster unity of the Kazakh people by greatly contributing to building a Just Kazakhstan.
