Jordan, Kazakhstan strengthen economic cooperation with new agreements

The fifth session of the Jordanian-Kazakh Joint Committee was co-chaired by Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply, Yarub Qudah, and Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy, Nurlan Baibazarov, in Amman on Wednesday, Petra reports.

The session focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in economic and other sectors, leveraging opportunities available in both countries.

Qudah emphasized that the joint committee's meetings reflect the commitment of both nations to expanding cooperation frameworks, particularly in trade, investment, and economic modernization.

He highlighted Jordan’s attractive investment environment, strengthened by the Investment Environment Law and the recently launched economic modernization vision aimed at achieving growth and qualitative advancements across sectors.

He called on business people from both nations to capitalize on agreed-upon initiatives to deepen economic ties and explore trade and investment opportunities. Key areas of potential growth include increasing trade volume, fostering joint investments, and stimulating private sector collaboration.

The Kazakh Minister underscored the strategic and distinguished relations between Jordan and Kazakhstan, expressing readiness to enhance cooperation in trade, industry, investment, energy, agriculture, transportation, tourism, and digital economy.

He also highlighted the role of chambers of commerce and industry in facilitating partnerships and supporting joint efforts through exhibitions and institutional collaboration.

During the session, the two ministers held bilateral discussions to accelerate the procedures required for advancing economic ties. A memorandum of understanding for joint cooperation was signed, with additional agreements expected to follow, covering areas such as industry, energy, environment, small and medium enterprises, and entrepreneurship.
