TOKYO. July 28. KAZINFORM A Japanese tanker blasted near the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday, leaving one person injured, Kyodo News reported. Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
The tanker might have been attacked by an outside force, the owner of the ship, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd was quoted as saying.
A total of 31 Indian and Filipino crew members were aboard the ship, the company said.
Pirates may have attacked the crude oil tanker M. Star, an official at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism said, while Mitsui O.S.K. said an attack by an outside force is suspected.
There was no leakage of crude oil from the tanker, which is sailing on its own toward the port of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates for inspection, Mitsui O.S.K. said. Kazinform refers to Xinhua. See www.xinhuanet.com
