The tanker might have been attacked by an outside force, the owner of the ship, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd was quoted as saying.

A total of 31 Indian and Filipino crew members were aboard the ship, the company said.

Pirates may have attacked the crude oil tanker M. Star, an official at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism said, while Mitsui O.S.K. said an attack by an outside force is suspected.
