Jan Kubish: It is desirable to strengthen cooperation between UN EEC and Int'l Fund for Saving Aral
During the meeting Sagit Ibatullin told the foreign guests about the consecutive plan for the next years and the goals outlined by the President. The meeting participants discussed the problems of water resources consumption, the ecological condition of the Aral Sea, and considered the draft memorandums on mutual cooperation.
Jan Kubish said one of the purposes of the visit was to receive information about the activity of the Fund since the April summit held in Almaty, and the perspectives of interaction with international organizations. «The Fund has existed for many years, however its work has been activated recently, which was influenced by the Almaty summit. During the last two-three years several countries of Central Asia have faced the problem of water supply from the river of the Aral basin. It is desirable to strengthen cooperation between the UN EEC and the IFSAS which have great perspectives ahead. We are in the beginning of a new partnership», - Jan Kubish said.
