Italian man failed to smuggle heroin in his stomach through Kazakhstan

ASTANA. KAZINFORM After becoming ill on a train en route Bishkek-Sverdlovsk an Italian-born Kyrgyz citizen, smuggling heroin in his stomach, was brought to hospital April 2 in Karaganda city.

As it turned out that he had swallowed 165 grams of heroin. The man made his stomach and intestinal tract a drug smuggling tool. The Internal Affairs Ministry believes that they have eliminated a massive trafficking channel which was supplying drugs from Kyrgyzstan to Russia. Under the current legislation of Kazajkhstan the man may face 20 years jail with confiscation of his property.
