'It is high time for Turkic diaspora organizations to cooperate' - Halil Akinci
More than 500 representatives of state organizations and diaspora organizations of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Kyrgyzstan take part in the event.
Welcoming speeches of presidents of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Kazakhstan were read out at the opening ceremony.
Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States Halil Akinci said following the fall of the Soviet Union, cooperation between Turkic-Speaking republics had improved significantly.
Accoriding to him, diaspora organizations greatly contribute in acknowledgment of Turkic-Speaking countries at the international level.
"It is high time for Turkic diaspora organizations to cooperate," Akinci announced.
The forum is focused on the issues of cooperation among the diaspora organizations of the Turkic-speaking countries, prospects of joint activity towards the solution of the problems of the Turkic world, issues on the implementation of the "Common activity strategy of the Diaspora organizations of the Turkic-speaking countries" signed in Ankara on May 14, 2013.
The adoption of Baku Declaration will crown the First Forum of Heads of Diaspora Organizations of the Member Countries of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States .
