Issue of vehicle recycling tax introduction under resolution in Kazakhstan

"We conducted analysis on the market and on creation of a car park. We have 3.5 million cars in operation, 2 million of which are over 18 years. After 5 years the amount of these cars will reach 2.5 million. Therefore, in any case, we are faced with the problem of their later use", said A.Rau.

According to his words there are two options: raising money in the budget as it is done in Russia or in the self-regulatory organization following the example of some European countries. National Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken" may act as the above mentioned body.

In Russia the recycling fee is charged for imported (including from Kazakhstan and Belarus) automobiles as well as produced in Russia. Size of the fee depends on weight of a car, its engine capacity and year of production.
