ASTANA. June 28. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ "The Islamic world should learn to resist religious fundamentalism as a political ideology," Nursultan Nazarbayev stated addressing the 38th session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Astana.
"One of the serious problems of the international politics is still the difficulties in relations of the Ummah with the rest of the world, first of all, with the West. The West associates the Islamic world in recent years with, primarily, its radical part that triggers baseless fears. Though Islam preaches human values of peace, tolerance and justice. The true meaning of Islam has nothing to do with the activity of extremist, particularly, terrorist structures sheltering behind religious phraseology," Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed.
