IREG opens fourth conference in Astana

ASTANA. June 15. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Fourth conference of foreign experts of the International Rankings Expert Group ?International and national ratings: similarities and differences? has been opened in Astana today.
The conference was organized by the Kazakh Ministry of Education and Science, the IREG?International Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence and the European Center for Higher Education UNESCO-CEPES.
The main purpose of the conference is to consider the methodic of holding of international and national ratings, define the ways of integration of the national higher educational institutions to the world rating systems.
Kazakh Minister of Education and Science Zhanseit Tuimebayev noted that the IREG-4 is a dialogue platform for rectors of Kazakh higher educational institutions and leading foreign rating agencies.
60 heads of the national universities and over 60 experts of the IREG ? representatives of the World Bank, foreign scientists ? are taking part in the conference.
