Iranian President Pezeshkian meets with Prime Minister of Tajikistan
President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian met with Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda in Tehran on February 18, Khovar reports.

At the beginning of the conversation, he conveyed sincere greeting and message of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian.
In this context, the interlocutors recalled the development of friendly relations between the two countries, which have been significantly intensified after Pezeshkian’s state visit to Tajikistan.
In continuation of the conversation, the effective efforts of the institutions of the two sides to implement the new cooperation agreements were emphasized, as well as good cultural, historical and linguistic relations were recognized as the main factor in expanding close cooperation in all important areas of bilateral ties.
Confidence was expressed that further expansion of Tajikistan’s trade and economic cooperation with Iran will remain a priority.
Relying on the existing opportunities, hope and confidence was expressed in reaching the previous agreements to bring the volume of trade turnover between the two countries to 500 million dollars.
Other important topics of the conversation were ensuring visa-free travel between Tajikistan and Iran, investments in energy, transportation and other issues.
It was emphasized with certainty that in the light of the instructions of the heads of both states, cooperation in various directions will be expanded as compared with years.
As reported previously, Tajikistan and Iran have discussed the issues of strengthening cooperation in the field of energy.
