Iran's Embassy in Almaty transferred to Astana
Mohammad Ali Eskandari said that the move came after reiterations by Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki for consolidating and expanding bilateral ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Kazakhstan.
Eskandari underlined that the embassy staffs will have easy access to Kazakh authorities and high-ranking officials in Astana given the fact that major administrative offices are stationed in the city.
He also expressed that hope that the move would lead to the expansion of official interactions and political and economic ties between the two countries.
The official further announced that the embassy's office in Almaty will provide consulate and trade services until Iran officially establishes its consulate-general office in the former capital city of Kazakhstan.
