Iran's crude steel output rises by 13 percent in 2 months
Mobarakeh Steel Company made 954.769 tons, Khuzestan Steel produced 581.238 tons and Esfahan Zobahan produced 505.745 tons of steel as Iran's top steel producers. The other companies include Hormozgan Steel, Saba Company, Khorasan Steel, Iran Alloy Steel and Iran's National Steel Industry Group were the other producers respectively made 209.681 tons, 130.287 tons, 124.221 tons, 67.666 tons and 15.793 tons of crude steel. Iran also made 3.031.723 tons of all steel products, including beam, iron, wide sheets, warm sheet, galvanized sheet, fittings and pipes, while the amount hit 2.741.093 tons similar period last year. Iran made 1.426.548 tons of steel ingot and 1.532.031 tons of steel products during the same period. China, Japan, and the U.S. were the world's leading crude steel producers in May 2014, by producing 70.4 Mt, 9.6 Mt, and 7.4 Mt of the product, respectively. Iran's crude steel output rose 9 percent in the past Iranian calendar year, which ended on March 20, 2014, compared to the year before. Iran's crude steel production reached 14.89 million tons in the Iranian calendar year, which ended in March 2013. Iran was the biggest producer of crude steel in the Middle East in 2013, according to the World Steel Association.
