Iran calls for closer ties with Kazakhstan

TEHRAN. April 4. KAZINFORM Iran's chief nuclear negotiator, Saeed Jalili, called for stronger and closer ties with Kazakhstan, Press TV reported Thursday.
Jalili, who is also the secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), made the remarks in Almaty of Kazakhstan Thursday.
"The common capacities of the two states will be further activated with the expansion of bilateral cooperation in the various political, economic and security fields," Jalili was quoted as saying.
The Iranian official said the existence of common views and common interests between Iran and Kazakhstan as well as the common threats against the two countries necessitate the enhancement of bilateral ties, Xinhua reports.
Heading Iran's nuclear negotiating team, Jalili arrived in Almaty Wednesday to attend the new round of talks between the Islamic republic and the world powers scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
