Following the Executive Board meeting, IOC Sports Director Pierre Ducrey said the list of sports for the 2030 Winter Games has already been finalized, while the disciplines, events, and athlete quotas will receive final approval in June.

The sports program for the 2030 Winter Olympics in the French Alps will include biathlon, bobsleigh, curling, ice hockey, luge, and skating and skiing disciplines, with the final distribution of events still pending approval. Ducrey said the IOC’s revised approach to adding or removing sports is intended to better balance the interests of both the Summer and Winter Games and provide greater clarity for organizers, federations, and athletes ahead of time.

As a result, summer sports such as cyclo-cross and cross-country running will not be included in the program of the 2030 Winter Olympics.

The IOC also left open the possibility of reconsidering cyclo-cross and cross-country running for inclusion in the 2034 Winter Olympics program in Utah, United States.

Earlier reports said the IOC had discussed the possibility of adding summer sports to future Winter Olympics programs in response to climate change.

Earlier, Qazinform News Agency reported that Mongolia will host the Asian Taekwondo Championships.
