Investment in 4th Kazchrome high-carbon ferrochrome plant to exceed $ 1 bln

AKTOBE. March 1. KAZINFORM Investment in the fourth high-carbon ferrochrome plant of JSC Transnational Company Kazchrome will exceed the planned amount of USD 700 million, Akim of Aktobe region Arkhimed Mukhambetov told a maslikhat session on Thursday.
"In the first half of the next year we will put into service the 4th high-carbon ferrochrome plant. Initially, the company estimated the project at more than USD 700 million, now the cost exceeds USD 1 billion because the plant expands. Now we are in negotiations with ENRC to build another ferroalloy plant with the capacity of more than 500,000 tons per year. The plant can be located either in Aktobe or in Khromtau," the Governor said.
