ASTANA. May 21. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ Investing in agribusiness is one of the priority directions of the EBRD activity in Central Asia. President of the EBRD Thomas Mirow has said it at a press conference in Astana today.
According to him, it is necessary for development of the region's potential.
"When we use this potential in full, the region will play a great role in providing the world with foods, which population is expected to reach 9 bln by that time", T. Mirow noted.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is the international financial institution founded in 1991 for the support of market economy in Central Europe and Central Asia. To date the EBRD unites 61 countries and two international organizations.
