International Nuclear Safety System failed: N.Nazarbayev

ANA. July 1. KAZINFORM /Valentina Yelizarova/ "The situation in the modern world remains anxious", Kazakh President N.Nazarbayev has said at the opening of the III Congress of World and Traditional Religions' Leaders.
"Nuclear threat continues keeping the world community in suspense. The International Nuclear Safety System failed. It is necessary to stop the process of proliferation of the weapons of mass destruction. The illegal trafficking of nuclear materials, attempts of a range of terroristic groups to get nuclear weapons became terrifying reality" the President said.
The Head of the State said that the current global financial crisis escalates the situation.
