International coop in combating terrorism discussed in Kazakhstan

ASTANA. September 12. KAZINFORM Today Chairman of the Committee on Constitutional Legislation, Judicial System and Law bodies of the Kazakh Senate Serik Akylbai met with Coordinator of UN Office for Drug and Crime Victoria Katliff, the Senate press service reported.
Issues of strengthening international cooperation in combating terrorism and improving national legislation in this area were discussed during the meeting.
V. Katliff got familiarized with legislation aimed at combating terrorism and crime. Besides, Senate Speaker and V. Katliff discussed the issues of legislative support to the Head of State's initiatives on non-proliferation and nuclear disarmament, the fight against terrorism and extremism.
During the conversation V.Katliff presented a project on strengthening the capacity of the criminal justice system of the Central Asian nations to combat terrorism in accordance with the rule of law.
