International Conference on Afghanistan kicked off in Kabul
The event brought together the representatives of more than 70 countries, international and regional organizations. The participants will be presented a plan on improvement of development, management and stability in Afghanistan prepared by the country's Government. The Conference will focus on the results of intensive work and thorough study of the priorities of the Afghan Government's policy implemented in various programs directed on ensuring economic growth and creation of jobs.
President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai delivered a welcoming speech. Secretary General of the United Nations Organization Ban Ki-moon, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan Zalmay Rasul and UN Special Representative for Afghanistan Staffan de Mistura are to make a speech too.
OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Secretary of State-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev will also take the floor.
The Conference aims at mobilization of international trust, resources for implementation of the Afghan national programs in accordance with the National Development Strategy of this country.14 complex programs on improvement of socio-economic situation in Afghanistan will be presented at the Conference.
