International Conference of Asian Political Parties on poverty alleviation to be held in China

BEIJING. July 8. KAZINFORM /Ruslan Suleimenov/ - The International Conference of Asian Political Parties on poverty alleviation is to be held on July 14-18 in Kunming city capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province. Deputy Minister of International Department of CPC Central Committee Ai Ping made it public at the press-conference on July 7 in Beijing.
According to Mr. Ping China hopes on political parties will exchange experience on poverty alleviation, strengthen their cooperation and draw attention of international community to global problems to help realize the United Nations' Millennium Development Goals, Ai Ping said.
'It is the common responsibility and important obligation of political parties in Asia to achieve the goal of poverty alleviation, which is closely connected to the agenda of the conference and the improvement of the livelihoods of the people", he pointed out.
To date, about 90 representatives of 66 political parties from 36 countries confirmed their attendance at the conference, including observers from Latin America and Africa, Ai said.
