International conference dedicated to SCO 10th anniversary to be held in Almaty

ASTANA. February 14. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ An international scientific-practical conference on the successful experience in combating new challenges and treats in the SCO space will be held in Almaty on February 22-23 within the frameworks of Kazakhstan's SCO presidency. Official representative of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry A.Abdrakhmanov made it public at the briefing.

"The conference is one of the most important events to be held on the threshold of the SCO anniversary Summit scheduled for June 15, 2011 in Astana", he said.

SCO Secretary General Muratbek Imanaliyev and Director of the Executive Committee of the SCO Regional Antiterrorist Structure Dzhenisbek Dzhumanbekov are expected to take part in the conference as well as representatives of the leading scientific research centers of the Organization member states, observer countries and dialogue partners in the SCO, Afghanistan and Turkmenistan.

"Proposals and recommendations on cooperation development within the SCO are planned to be worked out upon the results of the conference. These proposals and recommendations will be taken into consideration while developing a final document of the anniversary Summit", he resumed.
