International board of “Green Bridge” Program formed in Kazakhstan
Ecological program "Green Bridge" initiated by the President of Kazakhstan which is aimed at transfer of green technologies was approved at the international conference "Rio+20" in June of this year.
Studying and systematization of the world practice in using "green" technologies as well as their introduction in production are among the priorities of "Green Bridge" Program. It is the purpose working bodies of the program will be established for.
Besides, another important factor is an economic effect which is formed through using environmentally sound and cheap technologies based on the principle of energy efficiency.
Head of the working group on development of "Green Bridge" Bolat Yessekin noted that the instruments of this program could be used in exploring the international markets of "clean" products.
"Kazakhstan unlike Europe has 90% of land resources not polluted with chemicals and pesticides therefore there is an opportunity to grow "clean" products which will be highly in-demand and have high value in the international market. Thanks to such projects as "Green Bridge" Program we need to help our farmers to produce products with high value and gain new technologies," Advisor to the Minister of Environment Protection of Kazakhstan B. Yessekin said.
Member of the expert group of "Green Bridge" Program Sergei Ivlev, in his turn, emphasizes that once these environmentally sound technologies are introduced the economic potential of the sectors of "green" economy will rise.
"Green sectors will allow to ensure full employment of the population. For example, it can extend to such spheres as production of organic fertilizers from the waste, production of silicon from coal and low-quality quartz rocks, growing of high-quality agricultural cultures in low-quality soil, individual few-storey affordable housing of locally produced environmentally sound materials and others," S. Ivlev shared his view.
According to him, implementation of similar ecological projects will allow to improve the international image of the country. "These projects demonstrate Kazakhstan possessing its own "green" technologies and innovations at the level of the highest and latest world achievements which can strengthen and improve the international image of the country and form its new "green" brand," the experts said.
"Green" economy is interpreted as fair and reliable ensuring better life quality for everybody within the limits of the planet. "Green Bridge" initiative requires international participation and support in the form of partnership of the countries regarding creation of favorable conditions for transfer of modern intellectual resources, "green" technologies and investments, independent assessment of "green" technologies and projects, involvement of business in social sector," Director of the Socio-Ecological Fund Kaisha Atakhanova said.
"Green Bridge" Program consolidates the experience of all countries in environment sphere and allows to introduce and use these technologies in developing countries for more stable development of the economy and transition to "green" way of development.
