Interaction in military sphere remains main direction of Kazakhstan-NATO joint work: J.de Hoop Scheffer
The sides shared opinions on realization of the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) between our country and the Alliance, including the issues of international security. M.Altynbayev and J.de Hoop Scheffer noted that prominent successes were already achieved on a range of directions of interaction. This witnesses the high level of cooperation.
Kazakhstan holds regular consultations with the NATO and partner countries within the NATO Council that serves as the common political platform of partnership relations. Our country builds individual relations with the NATO within "Partnership for peace" program.
M.Altynbayev noted that annual international peace-making exercise "Steppe Eagle" declared itself as effective tool of joint preparation of our departments and the NATP member countries.
Complimenting the achieved level of partnership between the country and the Alliance, the NATO Secretary General noted that the interaction in the military field remains the main direction of joint work within the individual partnership.
M.Altynbayev said that the Kazakhstan-NATO cooperation has great potential, realization of which will allow to work upon the processes of strengthening of the regional and global security.
