Inter-parliamentary cooperation of Brazil and Kazakhstan discussed

The main purpose of the visit is promotion of the candidature of Kazakhstan to the post of non-permanent members of the UN Security Council for 2017-2018 and discussion of the state and prospects of the inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, the press service of the Senate informs.

Within the framework of the visit, B. Aitimova met with former Brazilian President Michel Temer and handed over a message from President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev addressed to Head of State Dilma Vana Rousseff to him, which is about further development of bilateral cooperation and support of the candidature of Kazakhstan for the post of a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2017-2018.

During the meeting, the sides talked about the prospects of development of bilateral relations in the political and economic spheres. The sides noted the similarity of the two countries' positions regarding many issues of regional and international agenda. The interlocutors emphasized the necessity of activation of trade and investment cooperation with the consideration of the potential of both countries.

At the meeting with a member of the commission for international affairs and national security of the Senate of the National Congress of Brazil, B. Aitimova stressed the importance of improving the inter-parliamentary dialogue including the cooperation between the committees and friendship groups, which serve as instruments for promotion of the partnership between the countries.

Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Brazil Bakytzhann Ordabayev took part in the meetings as well.

In general, the Brazilian side was familiarized with the current social and economic situation in Kazakhstan, the main provisions of the President's Address to the Nation - "Nurly Zhol".

In particular, the main provisions of the initiated by the Head of State reforms aimed at transformation of the social and political, social and economic situation in the country were explained to the Brazilian side.

In conclusion, B. Aitimova informed the interlocutors about important internal and international events scheduled to be held in Kazakhstan in the nearest future.
