Intellectual transport system to be introduced in the capital in 2016

ASTANA. November 28. KAZINFORM The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has held a session in Astana dedicated to issues of further development of the capital. One of the issues considered there was an issue of Astana congestion with vehicles, Kazinform refers to astana.kz.

The problem of transport congestion is increasing in Astana. The Head of the state has noted that there were negotiations with French companies regarding start of the light rail transport system in the capital.

"They suggested a high cost, more than 300 bln tenge, which is unacceptable. That is why the city akimat suggests considering an alternative variant in the form of high-speed bus lanes. The first stage of this project requires less costs, that is why it has been decided to implement it", - said Nursultan Nazarbayev.

In the course of the meeting Astana city akim I. Tasmagambetov informed of development of the intellectual transport system. It will be introduced in 2016 and allow regulating automatically the whole transport flow in the city. The city akim also reported on the reconstruction of CHP-1 and construction process of CHP-3.

Following the results of the session the Head of the state gave a number of concise instructions on further development of the capital, improvement of the city and due conduct of the heating season.
