Integration within Eurasian Economic Union discussed at a meeting in Kazan
The meeting in Kazan discussed the main approaches to determining the future direction of the integration process, which in turn are the basis for the formation and development of the future of the Eurasian Economic Union.
According to the Ministry, the meeting adopted a number of decisions in the framework of the Customs Union, including the establishment of import duty rates of the Common Customs Tariff of the Customs Union in respect of certain goods.
In addition, the meeting approved the technical regulations of the Customs Union "On the safety of milk and milk products" and "On the safety of meat and meat products".
They also discussed the development of and compliance with the rules of competition, improvement of customs legislation, changes in commodity nomenclature of foreign economic activity of the Customs Union.
After the meeting the representatives of Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus said they were satisfied with the outcome of the meeting and expressed intention to strengthen and deepen cooperation in the framework of the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space.
On October 24, Minsk will host the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council at the level of heads of state, which will focus on the development of Eurasian integration, shaping the future of the Eurasian Economic Union.
Eurasian Economic Commission was set up by the decision of the presidents of the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan and Belarus in 2011 as a single permanent governing body of the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space.
