Integration with neighbors opens window to the world for Kazakhstan - Tokayev

He made his opinion public at the plenary session of the upper chamber of the Kazakh Parliament commenting the signing of the Eurasian Economic Union Treaty. "Yesterday we witnessed a genuinely historic milestone - Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus formed the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) by signing the corresponding treaty. Initiated by President of our country Nursultan Nazarbayev 20 years ago, the economic union has become reality," Mr. Tokayev said. The Senate Speaker stressed that the union is to become a powerful player of global economy and take up the leading role among the world's 200 existing regional integration structures. K. Tokayev also noted that domestic authorities have a lot of work to do in terms of advancing interests of Kazakhstan in the EAEU.
