Innovative cluster to be created on the territory of EXPO-2017 pavilions

This decision has been made during today's session of the Supreme Board of the Regents of the Nazarbayev University, Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools and Nazarbayev Fund in the Akorda presidential residence.

The new cluster, that will be announced a special zone, will be developed on the instruction of President Nazarbayev in order to meet the needs of national economy.

"The construction site of the EXPO-2017 pavilions has been relocated closer to the Nazarbayev University. Afterwards, the pavilions can be used for research and development of new technologies," the President said.

"The new cluster will meet the needs of national economy and solve the problems of industrial and innovative development. I instruct the university to garner support of large national and international companies in forming the cluster. I believe "Samruk Kazyna" National Welfare Fund and its companies should be the first to develop their ideas within the new special zone," N. Nazarbayev added.
